Patriot Day

Patriot Day happens every year and is observed as the National Day of Service and Remembrance. It lands on September 11th of each year in memory of the 2,977 killed in the September 11th terrorist attacks in 2001. A bill to make a national day of mourning on September 11th was introduced in the U.S. House on October 25, 2001, but it wasn’t actually declared as Patriot Day until 2002. Today, the American flag is flown at half-staff at the White House as well as at all U.S. government buildings. It is also encouraged that American flags get hung on the houses of Americans throughout the country.

MEET and GREET TONIGHT!!!

Please join us for the Chadron Primary Meet and Greet tonight from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.  You will have the opportunity to bring your labeled school supplies as well as meet your teacher(s) and explore the school.  We look forward to meeting you all and welcoming you to the nest!

Road Construction - PLEASE READ!!!!

******  Road Construction Around Middle School and Primary School ******

The City of Chadron will begin road construction at the intersection of 6th and Ann Streets and roads will be blocked beginning on August 16th.  The construction project will impact drop off and pick up at Chadron Middle School and Chadron Primary School.  The map below shows the areas that will be blocked and suggested traffic routes.  Also, please note that there will be no through traffic in the parking lot and the gate will be closed during school hours (Please note how this will NOT allow for Pick Up or Drop Off on the East or North sides of the Primary Building.) . Thank you for your understanding.

Closed Streets:
6th Street from King to Chapin
Ann Street from 5th Street to 7th Street

Recommended Drop Off Procedures:

Option #1:

Go East on 8th St. and drop off along 8th St. next to War Memorial Park
Go East on 8th St. and turn North on Ann St. and drop off on Ann St.


Option #2:

Drop off students on Cedar Street using parking spots along the east side of football field (west side of Cedar Street)
Students can access the Primary School using the sidewalk between the football field and high school


Option #3:

Get fit and walk!! 😁🚶



Recommended Pick Up Procedures:
Pick up along Ann St.
Pick up along 8th St.
Use parking spots on Cedar St. along the football field

2017 Eclipse Viewing Information

Solar Eclipse Viewing

On Monday, August 21, 2017 Chadron Public Schools will host a Solar Eclipse Viewing and Sack Lunch for our students.  A signed permission slip is REQUIRED for participation in this viewing so please look for the permission slip in the packet of information sent home on the first day of school. We look forward to sharing this experience with our students!

Important Back to School Dates

Welcome Back to another exciting school year at Chadron Primary School!!  We are very excited about welcoming you to the Cardinal Family and to the Nest!  We have some important upcoming dates you will want to mark on your calendars:

August 15th ~  6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Meet and Greet (please bring your labeled school supplies, meet your child's teacher and tour the school)

August 16th ~ FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!

August 16th, 17th, and 18th ~ 1:30 p.m. Dismissals (there is no Just for Kids after school programming on these dates so please make arrangements to pick up your child)

August 21st ~ Solar Eclipse Viewing (we will have an 11:30 a.m. lunch for all kiddos and will be providing a sack lunch during the viewing) . ***A Solar Eclipse Permission form is REQUIRED before viewing - watch for this in the first day of school packet being sent home!!!***

August 22nd ~ First Day for Just for Kids after school programming

Also, be sure to mark your calendars for our Meet and Greet: Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet your child's teacher, tour the school, and bring your labeled school supplies. We are anxious to see you all. Remember - school starts Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will be 1:30 p.m. dismissals.
