Red Ribbon Week

 

Students at Chadron Primary School recognized and celebrated Red Ribbon Week October 23rd-27th.  This year's national Red Ribbon theme was "Be kind to your mind.  Live drug free." Each day the dress up themes focused on how we can take care of our minds, bodies, and each other. Students learned about ways to stay healthy (eating a balanced diet, staying hydrated, exercising) and ways to stay safe (wearing a seatbelt, wearing a helmet).  Students also learned about how to keep themselves safe and stay healthy with Halloween and Trick-or-Treating right around the corner (have a trusted adult check your candy before you eat it, make sure you can see out of and walk comfortably in your costume, etc...) At the culmination of our lessons, students pledged to do their best to make healthy and safe choices.

Fire Prevention Presentation

 

Last week Chadron Primary School had a visit from our Volunteer Fire Department.  Members of the fire department took time out of their busy schedules to present to our students during Fire Prevention Week.  Students got to see trucks, equipment, and the gear our firefighters use in fighting fires or responding to emergencies.  We are so fortunate to have volunteers take care of our community and we want to send a huge THANK YOU to everyone who visited us!

Domino's Fundraiser Results

 

On Monday night Domino’s Pizza of Chadron hosted a School Night Out event for Chadron Primary School.  25% of all sales from 4-8pm were donated to the Primary School and we were able to bring in over $1,000.  Mrs. Sandstrom’s 2nd grade class was the classroom that turned in the most slips so those students have earned a classroom pizza party, congratulations!!  We want to thank Domino’s Pizza of Chadron along with all of the students, families, and staff members who helped with this fundraiser.  We will utilize this money to purchase playground balls and necessary supplies for students and staff.  Again, thank you all!

September ~ Cardinals of the Month

 It is always a GREAT way to start your day when there is a celebration involved!!  This week Mrs. Mack was able to recognize and celebrate our September Cardinals of the Month with an extra special breakfast.  These students have been chosen by their classroom teachers as students who exceed our Cardinal expectations and have demonstrated caring, helpful, and safe actions throughout the month of September.  We want to thank each student and all families for helping to embrace The Cardinal Way (Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible).  Way to go kiddos!!

Chadron Primary School students and staff adore our Ms. Bernie!!  Ms. Bernie is our Native American Liaison and we appreciate all of her time, effort, and love she puts into every student in our building.  Whether she is checking on students and families, visiting with students during lunch, or making art projects with students, Ms. Bernie has a smile.  She is a warm, welcoming presence in our school and we are so fortunate to have her as a part of Chadron Public Schools, THANK YOU Ms. Bernie, WE LOVE YOU!
