Eagle Effort Award ~ Kindergarten

Chadron State College values winning in the classroom just as much as winning on the field and this value has contributed to Chadron State College Athletes being honored with the conference's top team academic awards.  Chadron State College football team once again partnered with Chadron Primary School to honor students succeeding in the classroom.  Chadron State College Football team is recognizing students at Chadron Primary School who demonstrate this "Eagle Effort" in the classroom.  The students chosen by each grade level have shown academic growth, help other students, and create a successful learning environment. The last home game, Nealy and Grady were honored and had a GREAT time with the CSC football mentees.  Thank you Chadron State College football team for partnering with Chadron Primary School.  What a great season!

Health Screenings

In November Chadron Primary hosted health screenings for our students.  Our nurses helped coordinate our AMAZING volunteers from Lions Club and CAPWN Dental.  Ms. Chrissy and a host of other volunteers helped things run smoothly.  Early screenings help us to detect anything we may need to be alerted to.  Again, thank you so very much for helping to keep our children healthy!

Cardinals of the Month ~ October

These little Cardinals had exceptional behavior this past month and were selected by their homeroom teachers as "Cardinals of the Month"!  The students are selected on the basis of going above and beyond the three Cardinal Rules: 1)Be Safe, 2)Be Respectful, and 3)Be Responsible.  They were able to have breakfast in the teachers' lounge and sported their buttons with pride!  We are so glad these students make good choices and set such great examples for others.  Keep up the GOOD WORK kiddos!

Kindergarten STEM Afternoon

The Kindergarten teachers hosted a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) afternoon for their students last week.  Students rotated to each of the classrooms and learned about engineering and technology.  Students built towers from pumpkins and toothpicks, boats out of apples, and structures using popsicle sticks, clothespins and pumpkins.  Students also worked on their letter and sound identification on I Pads.  It was a successful afternoon and we can't wait to do it again!

Chadron Public Schools 2019 Health Screenings

Dear Parents/Guardians:
Hope this letter finds each of you and your families off to a great school year!
We are writing to let you know that the required school health screenings will be held on November 12th and 13th.  The schedule will be as follows:
November 12th morning- High School (10th - 11th grades)
November 12th afternoon - Intermediate School (3rd - 4th)
November 13th morning - Primary School (K - 2nd)
November 13th afternoon - Middle School (6th - 7th)
These are routine school days so we will be pulling your child’s class for a short time to complete a hearing, dental, vision and height, weight screening.  A current physical is required for incoming Kindergarten and 7th grade students so they will not be participating in the height/weight portion.  Incoming Kindergarten students are required to have a current vision exam, they will not be completing that portion at this time. Kindergarten hearing screenings were already completed.  These screenings are not only a requirement by the State of Nebraska but also very important in early diagnosis of potential barriers in a student’s ability to learn and grow! vc
CAPWN Dental will also be completing dental screenings and/or treatments for ALL grades who’s permission slips (sent home the beginning of the year) were filled out and returned.
If you do not want your child/ren to participate in the free screenings, you will need to come to the school and sign a waiver.  Due to the screenings being a state requirement, we will need you to provide the school with documented results from your private providers for each area of screening by   December 1, 2019.
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Your School Nurses,
Abie Hyatt LPN, EMT-P
