Cardinals of the Month ~ February

 

These cardinals were honored with a special breakfast they shared with Principal Mack!!  Each of these students were chosen by their classroom teacher as the Cardinal of the Month being recognized for outstanding behavior. ☺️ The students were able to enjoy a breakfast, receive a certificate and bracelet, and earn bragging rights for being special students.  We are so proud of outstanding work and behavior from these cardinals and are so happy to share the news!

Domino's Donation

 

We want to send a HUGE thank you to Domino's of Chadron for sponsoring a School Night Out fundraiser for the Primary School.  Part of the sales from this night was donated to the school and will be used to purchase playground supplies.  We always appreciate our community thinking of us!  Miss Lucas' class had the highest percentage of participants and won a class pizza party for last Friday.  Thank you again Domino's of Chadron.

Mrs. Rischling's Kindergarten Class Shows Random Acts of Kindness

 This month at Chadron Primary School, we are focusing on Kindness Matters. To help kids learn to show kindness, we challenge each class to do something kind for those in our community who do so much to support our school. Mrs. Rischling's Kindergarten class colored pictures for the CSC Men's Basketball Team to return the kindness they have shown all the students at our school, especially the High Five Fridays. Thank you CSC Men's Basketball Team for all the kindness you show to our school!

Be My Valentine Breakfast

Last Friday (Feb. 13th), Chadron Primary School hosted our special "Be My Valentine" Breakfast.  We were so excited to welcome our families, friends, and even some students from the High School who joined us for this event.  We had a great time enjoying our morning by eating, visiting, and participating in some great Valentine's Day activities.  Thank you to everyone who could join us for this incredible morning!💕

 

Kindness is in the air at Chadron Primary!

To celebrate National Random Acts of Kindness Month, students have been challenged with a daily kindness task.  Kind acts have been witnessed in classrooms, on the playground, in the lunchroom and beyond!

This week, each student at Chadron Primary received a "positive postcard" from someone who loves and wants to encourage them!  Authors of these notes included: parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and school staff.  Your student brought their purple note home this week.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project!

During Counseling Connections Class, every student decorated a rock to spread kindness because... "Kindness Rocks!"  Every student and staff member at Chadron Primary received a kindness rock as a reminder to spread kindness to others.

Cardinals of the Month ~ January

Students enjoyed a breakfast of champions to celebrate being Cardinals of the Month for January.  These students have modeled great behavior and choices and classroom teachers selected them for this special event.  Cardinals enjoyed the breakfast with Mrs. Mack along with a certificate and special bracelet.  We are so proud of these and all cardinals for making amazing choices, keep up the great work!

The staff at Chadron Primary School has been so thankful to everyone who showed us love, kindness, and thoughtful words throughout the week.  With our evacuation this week and reunification for students, we were so fortunate to have support from so many community members.  From words of thanks, to flowers, to specialty drinks delivered to school, our staff felt the love and support!  Once again we cannot say enough about our preparedness along with calm students and adults that aided in our success.  Our maintenance crew, administration, police and volunteer fire departments all did an amazing job in quick responses and putting safety first.  We are all so grateful to be a part of this INCREDIBLE community!!❤️

Cardinals of the Month ~ December

 

Coming back from break always seems a bit rough; however, when you are the Cardinal of the Month and get a special breakfast, that helps! These 12 cardinals were recognized as outstanding students for the month of December.  Teachers have picked these students as representatives for great choices and behavior.  One friend was more interested in selfies than in the group picture so he took some time with Mrs. Mack.  We are so proud of these individuals and congratulate them on making choices that follow the Cardinal Way.  Keep up the great work! 🩷

Holiday Cheer at Chadron Primary School

Chadron Primary School had some visitors the Friday before our holiday break.  Staff members were dressed in holiday attire and we had inflatable guests to spread holiday cheer and hand out candy canes.  We are so grateful to everyone who participated in our holiday spirit week and helped brighten the season.

 

Reader's Theater

 

Before the Winter Break, second grade students performed a Readers' Theater to our Kindergarten classes.  Reader's Theater is not a play, but a performance of reading as a narrator/character.  All second graders had a part to perform.  The students were excited to present holiday stories to students and everyone enjoyed the time together.
