The Grinch Makes a Stop at Chadron Primary School

Along with our elf visiting the Primary School to catch students doing amazing things, the Grinch stopped by to greet students at the front door.  It's a good thing our students are so happy to come to school because they lifted the Grinch's spirits and he was even seen leaving the school with a smile! ☺️ Thank you Mr. Grinch for stopping by to say hello and we hope your heart grew more than three sizes. ❤️

Cardinals of the Month ~ November

 

Time for another Principal brag!! ☺️ These Cardinals of the Month were chosen by their classroom teachers to represent our student body for the month of November.  Following The Cardinal Way and setting amazing examples are what these students are known for and I appreciate the time I get to spend honoring them at our Cardinal of the Month breakfast!  The students also enjoy the special treat and chance to be silly!  Keep up the hard work and keep being amazing humans!❤️

FCCLA ~ Baking with Birthdays

 

We are so fortunate to have an FCCLA organization that provides service to our schools.  For the past couple of years FCCLA members have provided teachers with birthday treats for any students who may be in need to celebrate their special day.  Teachers can place the order and FCCLA folks deliver them to our building.  These cute little turkeys came our way to help celebrate a day, thanks to Mrs. Budler and the FCCLA students for all they do! ☺️

Board of Education Opening

 Chadron Public Schools is accepting applications for a vacated seat.  As an individual interested in appointment to the Board of Education, you need to know that the position requires considerable time in preparation for meetings and study of information and issues.  Unless otherwise announced, the board routinely meets on the second Wednesday of every month.  In addition, special sessions, monthly committee meetings, and in-service meetings need to be attended. Public interviews will be conducted during the regular Personnel meeting on December 11, 2024, at Noon.

Applications must be returned to the office of the Superintendent no later than Noon on Friday, December 2, 2024.  Application materials are available at the Office of the Superintendent at 602 East 10th Street.  The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all applications.

Chadron Primary Students Enjoy Holiday Fun

 

Students from Chadron Primary School enjoyed Halloween with interactive activities at the Math Science COIL (Math Science Center of Innovative Learning).  Students and staff members from Chadron State College had a variety of stations for students to explore from ice cream making, to digging through bones, to launching mini rockets, and more.  Students were able to wear Halloween outfits and enjoy the fun.  A big thank you to all of the Chadron State College staff members and students who made this day possible.  There was also a sighting at Chadron Primary School of "King Candy" (our beloved custodian Mr. Fred).  ☺️

Cardinals of the Month ~ October

 

Another month, another breakfast celebration, another set of OUTSTANDING CARDINALS!!!  We are so excited to honor these students who have been wonderful examples for others.  They follow the Cardinal Way and we appreciate the citizenship they show.  Way to go Cardinals; we are proud of you!

Mrs. Hoffman's class gets Presentation from Nebraska Farm Bureau about Ag in the Classroom

Today we had a special guest in our classroom from the Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation, an organization that is dedicated to increasing the number of Nebraskans who understand and value agriculture as a source of food, fuel, and economic success. Today's lesson involved making observations to discover that animals are alike, but not exactly like their parents. Students played a card game and were encouraged to match farm animals with their young, while learning the terminology for males, females, and baby farm animals.

Chadron Primary School is continuing our fundraising efforts for The Primary Project: A Playground for All.  This campaign is to raise money for a playground renovation project (a 5 year plan).  We want to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to and purchased items at our recent bake sale.  We also received a substantial contribution from Sprinkler Solutions to help our fundraising.  Our goal is to raise money in order to update our playground and make it accessible for all students.  We have another chance for a fundraising opportunity in which can enjoy a PARENT'S NIGHT OUT; please see the flyer above and watch for information coming home in your child's folder.  Thank you again for your continued support of this and all Primary School projects.

High School Students Join Primary Lunch Time

 

Chadron Primary School is so fortunate to have students from the High School join us for lunch dates.  Many of these High School students are part of the Cardinals Committed group; our students enjoy the chance to see great examples of older students who follow the Cardinal Way.  

Fire Presentation

 

Chadron Primary School was so lucky to have a visit and presentation from our Volunteer Fire Department.  They talked to students about fire safety as well as what to do in an emergency situation.  The students saw and heard what the fire fighters look like when they are in full gear so students are not frightened by them.  With Daylight Savings time ending, it is a good reminder to check smoke detectors when setting back those clocks.  Thank you firefighters for all you do for our community!
