Chadron United Methodist Church donated a check to help pay lunch balances in the district. This program called "Fuel the Kids" helps pay for students to get seconds on lunch entrees. While all students are receiving free lunches for the school year, students still have to pay for extra entrees and after school snacks which can be a hardship for families. This donation will help so many students and we want to thank the thoughtful actions of these kiddos and Chadron United Methodist Church congregation. Stay well and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

Mrs. Dunbar's Kindergarten Class Makes Candy Cane Cookies
As a special treat in Mrs. Dunbar's class today students made candy cane cookies to get into the holiday spirit. Students learned about recipes and how they work. They helped to pour the ingredients into the mixer and then watched as Mrs. Dunbar changed one of the pieces of dough red. Kiddos then spent cardinal block time rolling out dough and using their fine motor skills. It was a great lesson in figuring out how to roll it not too thin, not too thick. The best part was eating them with milk! Everyone gave them two thumbs up!!
Kids Sharing and Caring for Christmas a HUGE Success at Chadron Primary
Students at Chadron Primary School collected non-perishable food items throughout the month of December. We are so grateful to all of our families for the donations provided and our local food pantry is thankful for all of the kindness shown. Our students enjoy taking the bags of food to the Immanuel Lutheran Church every year and this year was no exception. Once again, thank you so very much to our Chadron Primary School families.
New Drop Off Times ~ Starting January 7, 2021
Parents ~ Starting January 7, 2021 our new drop off time will begin at 7:50am & end at 8:10am. Students arriving after 8:10am will be counted tardy. In order to help with this, we ask that you continue to utilize our STOP - DROP and ROLL (stop the vehicle completely without parking or exiting the vehicle yourself), (drop your student off with a quick kiss, hug, and positive encouragement for the day), & (roll on down the road to begin your glorious day). We have been averaging drop off between 7:50am and 8:10am currently, so we hope this continues as we tighten our allowance time for tardy students. We also appreciate when three or four vehicles pull up and have students exit all at the same time rather than waiting until right at the front door. Another available option would be to drive down Ann street and quickly pull over to the East sidewalk to have your child exit your vehicle and then walk across the crosswalk at the end of our ramp (north end). There is not any traffic or delays on Ann St. so it would provide another option to the ramp which often looks congested. We will continue to have our staggered dismissal times: K-3:05, 1st-3:10pm, & 2nd-3:15pm. Thank you for your understanding & support.

Guess Who Is Back?
Seymour Goodthings has returned to Chadron Primary for another year of watching students follow the Cardinal Way! You just never know where Seymour will be hiding to watch our little birds follow the rules here at the nest! We are so proud of the decisions our students make to become good citizens and Seymour has been a fun addition to the building. Stay well and have a Happy Holiday season!
