December 21st Fun Day

Chadron Primary School hosted a Holiday Fun Day Friday, December 21st and our students had a BLAST!!  Students rotated through various stations that engaged students in STEM activities, sensory activities, literacy, music, and art activities.  Students were also able to have their classroom parties and we had so many parents and family members who volunteered their time to make the day a success!  Thank you to all of the folks that coordinated these activities, it was a day to remember!  We finished the day with an all-school sing-a-long with our special guest Dr. Tebbs from Chadron State College.  Thank you Dr. Tebbs for entertaining us all, what fun!  Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone from Chadron Primary School!

Food Pantry Donations

Chadron Primary School would like to send a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our students and families for their AMAZING donations to our Kids Caring at Christmas campaign.  In lieu of Christmas presents students brought canned goods and non-perishable food items which were donated to the Food Pantry at Immanuel Lutheran Church.  We had some pretty good helpers carrying bags of food down to the church and we thank the folks at the church who will assemble bags and distribute to families.  What a community!  Chadron Primary School is proud to be a part of it!!

Thank You Thrivent Financial

Chadron Public Schools received a generous donation of school supplies from Thrivent Financial!  All four schools:  Primary, Intermediate, Middle and High schools were able to distribute supplies to students and teachers.  We are so thankful to live in a community that recognizes and supports our students and staff.  Thank you again for thinking of all of us!

2nd Grade Reader's Theater

Our second grade students have been working on a Christmas Reader's Theater and they were able to perform for our Kindergarten classes today.  These students have been studying these in library time and we would like to thank Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Kaus for all of their work helping get the students ready to perform.  Our Kindergarten students always get so excited for the "big kids" to visit and today was no exception.  Well done second grade students!

Change for Changing Lives a Success!

This year students from Chadron Public Schools and Sioux County Schools participated in our Change for Changing Lives Campaign in November.  Chadron Community Hospital’s Change for Changing Lives is a program that involves the participation of local schools in fundraising competitions to benefit our Circle of Light Program, a non-profit organization that provides financial assistance directly to local cancer patients.  The competition pits all classes within the school against each other to see which class can raise the most money within a month.  There is only one winning class within each school; the winning class receives a catered Subway party on the date of their choosing.  The winners from CPS were Ms. Larson, Ms. Motz, Ms. O’Boyle and the 5th and 6th grade class from SCS.  They raised a total of $1851.67 that will go to help assist local cancer patients and their families.

We are so thankful for our partners at Subway and in the schools for making this such a success.  This is the second annual Change for Changing Lives Campaign and we raised twice the amount we did last year!

A little change can make a big change in someone’s life and we are very grateful to all our cancer warriors!

Big THANK YOU to Chadron Public Schools, Sioux County-Harrison Schools and all the students who raised money this year for the Change for Changing Lives campaign! The $1850  you raised goes directly to help cancer patients in our area through our Circle of Light Program. We would also like to thank Subway for partnering with us to provide our winning classrooms with a much deserved Subway party.  A little change can make a big change in our community!
