PB & J Food Drive

The Primary School will be hosting a Peanut Butter & Jelly drive rather than our normal canned food drive.  Please feel free to contribute if you are able to.  We will begin our PB & J drive on Monday, December 1st and it will run through December 17th.  You may drop off any Peanut Butter (or alternatives such as almond butter, cashew butter, or any other spread) along with a jar of jelly at the Primary School or send it with your child.  Thank you in advance for your support of this new twist on a food drive.

CHS Math Club Visits Mrs. Sandstrom's 2nd Grade Class

On Thursday, October 30th the CHS Math Club, led by Shauna Golembiewski, joined Mrs. Sandstrom's 2nd grade class. The math club led stations where each student could earn money based on math questions answered correctly. The students had a great time practicing their facts and counting coins. But the highlight was using their earned money to spend at the "Candy Shop."

Red Ribbon Week

October has been a busy month in Counseling Connections Class at the Primary School!  October is National Bullying Awareness Month and  National Red Ribbon Week falls on the last week of the month. Through Counseling Connections classes, students have learned to define bullying (being mean, on purpose, over and over).  Students also learned to recognize, report, and refuse bullying.  We discussed the difference between bystanders and upstanders during class time as well.

Red Ribbon week was observed with dress up days and themes revolving around making healthy choices for our bodies and our brains. The National Family Partnership sponsored the first National Red Ribbon Campaign in 1988.  This year's National theme was: Life is a puzzle, solve it drug free. Thanks to all of our students, families, and staff who participated in the dress up days and helped make this a fun week of learning to make healthy choices for our bodies and our brains.

Miss Lucas' first graders had a blast painting pumpkins this week! A big thank you to one of our students' grandmas for generously sharing pumpkins from her garden with our class. The kids loved getting creative and adding their own colorful touch to each one. What a fun way to celebrate the fall season!

Another celebration and fun filled morning at Chadron Primary School to honor these young cardinals.  These students were chosen by their teachers as students who set amazing examples.  These students were able to have a special breakfast with Mrs. Mack and share their magic wishes for school and their favorite part of Chadron Primary School.  We are so proud of these kiddos!  Missing from the picture are Mason K. and Jimmy L.

The Great Inflatable Race

To finish the school year, Chadron Primary School had the Great Inflatable Race which was so much fun!  Students were able to bring in change or donations and choose which of our selected staff members got to wear which inflatable.  Students raised close to $300 all of which goes to our PBIS program and rewards for student success.  This year we had Ms. Kasey, Mrs. Hageman, Mrs. Vander May, and Mr. Fred who were great sports to join in the racing fun!!  Thank you to all of the families and staff members who contributed to this worthwhile cause and have some fun to kick off summer!
