PBIS End of Year Celebration!

Chadron Primary School wrapped up another INCREDIBLE year with celebrations and activities.  Throughout the school year students were able to earn Cardinal Coupons for going above and beyond our Cardinal Way: 1)Be Safe, 2)Be Respectful, and 3)Be Responsible.  If students had their names drawn from the Cardinal Coupon bucket they could choose a reward that spoke to their particular love language.  We had students receive gifts, words of affirmation, help with acts of service, and many mare.

In our End of Year Celebration, students had coupons drawn for prizes that encourage outdoor fun time!  These prizes were made possible through fundraising efforts and the work of our PBIS team!  Our PBIS team has done amazing work throughout the year to coordinate expectations and develop support systems for all students.  Thank you to our PBIS team and all of the efforts of the entire staff.  Our final fundraiser of the year was for two staff members to "Kiss a Goat"!  Mrs. Cogdill and Ms. Uhing were the two staff members who "earned" the honor.  What a way to retire Mrs. Cogdill! 😘🐐Students had a ball the last day of school with activities and fun!  A big thanks to our Cardinal Committed students who joined us from the High School to help with activities.  So much fun on the last student day!

What an unbelievable feat to complete a year with full in-person learning!!  Thanks to the staff, student, and family diligence to respect our safety protocols, we were able to keep our doors open and students in our building all year.  Again, we are so proud of these efforts!  Thank you for all of your support throughout the year, have a GREAT SUMMER and see you next fall!

Readers' Theater

Some of our second grade friends presented a Readers' Theater and what a delight!!  They presented the Life Cycle of a Flower and did an AMAZING job!  They have worked so hard all year to develop some great reading skills and were able to showcase all of their talents.  Keep on reading over the summer and know we are so PROUD of you!

Summer Lunch Program

Greetings Chadron Public Schools Parents, Patrons, and Students:

We are excited to send out some great news:  We will have a Summer lunch program through the end of June. All students ages up to 18 years of age, regardless of economic status will receive free meals at Chadron Public Schools.  Meals will include both breakfast and lunch served through our school food program.  The Child must be present to get a "Grab and Go Lunch." With summer work going on, there will-not be an eating area set up. The lunch will be a hot meal and will also include a breakfast for the next day.

Meals will be served from the high school kitchen from 11:30 to 12:15. Students may enter by the front door. Once again the child must be present to receive.

Chadron Public Schools hopes that this news comes as a pleasant surprise and helps each family financially through these unprecedented times.

Kindergarten Visitation Day ~ Friday, May 7th

Friday, May 7, 2021 Chadron Primary School will host our Kindergarten Visitation Day from 8:30am-10:30am.  Current Kindergarten students will have NO SCHOOL on Friday so we can welcome our incoming kindergarten students.  Our ramp will be closed after 8:15am so we ask that parents park on Ann Street and walk their child(ren) up to the front entrance where we will have two sign-in tables ready to greet everyone.  We will get children signed in, give them an animal tag that designates their class and have them line up on the lines out on the playground where their teacher will be waiting.  Teachers will then take students into the building which mirrors how we bring students into the building from recess and how we dismiss at the end of our school day.  At 10:30am children will be picked up on those same lines and we ask that children DO NOT leave the line until the teacher dismisses them to their parent/guardian.  Thank you for your patience and understanding as we coordinate this opportunity to welcome students.  Please remember that ALL kindergarten paperwork and requirements MUST be turned in to Tricia Berry at the High School or Chrissy Slingsby at the Primary School prior to the first day of school; if families do not have everything turned in, children will not be able to start the first day of school.

WCHR is also offering a special Shot Clinic for incoming kindergarten students which will be the same day as our visitation day (5/7).  This will be at Western Community Health Resources located at 300 Shelton St. and will run from 11:00am-12:30pm.  We hope you are able to take advantage of this opportunity to be up to date on vaccinations required to start kindergarten.

If you have any more questions about our exciting day or paperwork required, please call the Primary School at 432-0710 ~ see you Friday!

Sincerely,
Ms. Uhing
